Denver Lady Bulldogs earn convincing win in L.A.

On Aug. 11, a handful of Denver Lady Bulldogs traveled to L.A. to compete against the L.A. Women Dragons in what was their annual Dragons’ ladies day event. Denver teamed up with women from the Arizona Hawks, Arizona Outlaws and Texas Heat, and the lot earned a convincing win against L.A. by dominating all aspects of attack and defense.

Rookie Sydney Gonzales applied her exceptional basketball skills to control tapped ball ups and boundary throw ins, as well as used her strong boot to kick her very first goal. In addition, rookie Joliet Moya cleaned up scrap in the midfield and executed superior decision making to keep the ball moving forward and inside the 50-meter line.

Second-year veteran and outstanding fullback Becca Pieseski defended the Bulldogs’ goal line and was clutch, holding L.A. to a mere 2 goals 2 behinds.Veteran on-baller Sara Rohner racked up the goals (4) from midfield, in addition to captaining and coaching the team to a smashing win.

The Lady Bulldogs look forward to a USAFL developmental camp—being held in Denver—this upcoming weekend before nationals in October.
